Pianista de nacionalidade luso-americana, nasceu no México em 1974 e cresceu na Bélgica, residindo atualmente em Portugal.
Entre os numerosos prémios e distinções que obteve em competições nacionais e internacionais, destacam-se o 2.º prémio no concurso internacional de piano «Vianna da Motta», a presença na final da «Classical Fellowship Awards» da American Pianists Association e o 4.º prémio no «Concurso Internacional Schubert» em Dortmund.
Como solista, deu recitais e tocou com inúmeras orquestras de renome na Europa, América e Ásia, mantendo simultaneamente uma intensa actividade no domínio da música de câmara. Juntamente com seu irmão Eliot, violinista, forma o Duo Lawson & Lawson e trabalha ainda com diversos cantores regularmente.
É docente na Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas em Castelo Branco, onde leciona os cursos de Piano e Repertório para cantores.
Jill iniciou os seus estudos de piano aos 8 anos de idade em Antuérpia, tendo sucessivamente obtido as mais elevadas classificações e distinções em prestigiadas escolas como o Conservatório Real da Flandres, a Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth em Waterloo e o Conservatório de Amsterdão, onde estudou com Jan Wijn.
No Peabody Institute, em Baltimore, onde recebeu aulas de Leon Fleisher e Ellen Mack, obteve o Diploma de Pós-Graduação em Piano, em 2000, e o Mestrado em Música de Câmara, em 2004.
Fez vários cursos de aperfeiçoamento com Dimitri Bashkirov, Gyorgy Sebok, Maria Tipo e Maria João Pires, entre outros. Colaborou no documentário, que se realizou em 2001 durante um workshop de Maria João Pires em Belgais.
A acrescentar ao conjunto de CD’s já editados, foi lançado em 2013 a gravação das sonatas completas de Hindemith para violino e piano para a Brilliant Classics.

As a soloist she held recitals and played with various orchestras of renown in Europe, America and Asia, all the while with intense activity in the area of chamber music. Together with her brother Eliot, a violinist, she created Duo Lawson & Lawson, and also regularly works with several singers.
She teaches at the Higher College of Applied Arts in Castelo Branco, where she teaches Piano and Repertoire for singers.
Jill began her piano studies at age 8 in Antwerp and continuously got highest honours and awards in prestigious schools like the Royal Music School of Flanders, the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Waterloo and the Music School of Amsterdam, where she studied under Jan Wijn.
At the Peabody Institute in Baltimore, where she was taught by Leon Fleisher and Ellen Mack, she got her post-grad in Piano, in 2000, and her master’s in Chamber music in 2004.
She took several improvement courses with Dimitri Bashkirov, Gyorgy Sebok, Maria Tipo and Maria João Pires, among others. She worked in a 2001 documentary during a workshop by Maria João Pires in Belgais.
As well as the many CDs she published, in 2013 she launched the complete Hindemith sonatas for violin and e piano for Brilliant Classics.
