Miguel Albuquerque nasceu no Barreiro e começou por frequentar o Conservatório Regional de Setúbal onde concluiu o oitavo grau de piano na classe de António Toscano.
Prosseguiu os seus estudos na Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco onde estudou com Luísa Tender e Jill Lawson.
Durante este período teve oportunidade de estudar com Caio Pagano e Paulo Álvares, e participar na masterclass de Fernando Rossano.
Viveu quatro anos na Finlândia onde estudou dois anos em performance do piano na Oulu University of Applied Sciences e um ano em pedagogia de ensino do piano na Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
Teve a oportunidade de estudar com Risto Kyrö e participar em masterclasses de Paavali Jumppanen e Jeffrey Cohen.
Assistiu a aulas de músicos como Miriam Fried e Soile Isokoski.
Miguel Albuquerque trabalhou já com diversos grupos de música de câmara e cantores.
Participou como pianista na orquestra Pyynikin Puhaltajat e na Finnish Symphonic Wind Professionals (FSWP).
Paralelamente dedicou-se ao ensino tendo lecionado no Conservatório Regional de Castelo Branco, Conservatório Regional da Covilhã e Conservatório Regional da Guarda.

Miguel Albuquerque was born in Barreiro and went to the Setúbal Regional Music School, where he reached the 8th degree in piano under António Toscano.
He went on to study at the Higher College of Applied Arts in Castelo Branco where he studied under Luísa Tender and Jill Lawson.
During that time he had the opportunity to study under Caio Pagano and Paulo Álvares, and to take part in a master class by Fernando Rossano.
He lived four years in Finland, where he studied two years of piano performance at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences and one year of piano teaching at the Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
He had the opportunity to study under Risto Kyrö and to take part in master classes by Paavali Jumppanen and Jeffrey Cohen.
He attended classes with musicians like Miriam Fried and Soile Isokoski.
Miguel Albuquerque worked with several chamber music groups and singers.
He was a pianist at the Pyynikin Puhaltajat Orchestra and the Finnish Symphonic Wind Professionals (FSWP).
He is also taught at the Regional Music School in Castelo Branco, Regional Music School in Covilhã and Regional Music School in Guarda.
He currently teaches at the Colégio Moderno School of Music.
