The Cello ensemble started in 2012 and includes approximately 30 young pupils of viola, aged from 3 to 15 from the School of Music of the Colégio Moderno.
As well as the traditional individual lessons of the instrument, these pupils rehearse a wide and varied repertoire to be performed in several concerts throughout the year.
They have performed in some of the most iconic concert halls in Portugal; at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB), the São Carlos National Theatre, the Ajuda National Palace, and others.
They also played at the Dias da Música Festival, at the CCB.
The artistic director is cellist Ângela Carneiro.
